Businesses, knowledge institutions and experts join forces to create circular transformation across industries and geographies
Closing Loops is a close-knit community of small and medium-sized Danish companies that, together with skilled experts, find concrete circular solutions in the value chains.
The project is very concrete. In three years, we must reduce 235,000 tons of CO2e and 42,000 tons of waste!
We need help. Because a company cannot adapt alone. Value chains cut across industries, and studies show that collaboration promotes circular implementation and increases competitiveness.
In addition to the community, Closing Loops gives a significant and important boost to the participating companies. They work to minimize resource consumption and waste and implement solutions that provide new development and business opportunities.
Our ambition is to be an important contributor to Denmark achieving a better circular transition and reaching the climate goals set for 2030.
Last, but not least: We take care of natural resources and focus on what we can give back. At the same time, we create business for ourselves and each other.
It provides guidance for companies to promote reuse, repair, remanufacturing, material recycling and longer product lifecycles, successful circular value chains and increased sustainability reporting requirements. Participants will receive help to develop a value chain collaboration.
Closing Loops consists of 27 company-based value chain collaborations - and now more have been opened up. Across industries, companies and geographies, your value chain can apply for up to DKK 3,000,000 to work with the circular economy.
Together with experts, you work to develop new innovative solutions that can reduce your resource consumption and waste volumes. For example, by recycling and upcycling resources to achieve significantCO2 savings.
Closing Loops has so far mobilized 129 companies and organizations, primarily within construction, environmental technology, textile, design and furniture, food & bioeconomy, organized under 27 value chain collaborations that will provide massive reductions and better use of resources - and reduced CO2 emissions.
The partners will identify and recruit approximately 30 additional companies to be included in an open pool under the project, which will mature to apply for project participation and funding.
